The melody of this song inspired us to make a fusion between the original style, called pasillo (national genre from Ecuador), and fado music (coming from Portugal). Both styles share a basic instrumentation with voice, classical guitar and a melodic instrument playing backlines (Portuguese guitar for fado, requinto for pasillo), as well as a very melancholic way of singing. To make it complete, we moved the metric from 3/4 (typical from pasillo) to 2/4 (typical from fado), and introduced the cavaquinho (Portuguese instrument) to play the backlines.
